Lomax Health Systems, Philadelphia PrisonsFormulated the nursing segment of the successful bid for the privatization of the Philadelphia Prison Health Care System, which rendered care to 5000 inmates. Reorganized the entire nursing structure within the prison system. Developed job descriptions, rules and regulations governing all nursing practices. Researched market values and developed a comparative wage scale for nursing staff. Recruited and supervised 55 full-time and 25 part-time employees which included registered and practical nurses, emergency medical technicians and medical assistants. Organized a PRN nursing pool to ensure adequate coverage 24 hours daily. Utilized the Systems Theory as a framework of practice when integrating the correctional and legal disciplines into nursing services. Introduced stress management systems.
